Composer, Producer,
Trumpet and Flugelhorn
Look, it's been a long, strange trip... and describing who you are and what you do in a couple of paragraphs can be a daunting task! Without delving into outrageous levels of self promotion (and lying), the shortest version is that I've played jazz in Greenwich Village, composed for modern dance, been heard on terrestrial radio in Paris and had my music played at the Guggenheim. It's has been a wild ride, but there's more to do. Music, to me, is a lifelong endeavor and if you're doing it right, you never stay in any one place, in the artistic sense, for all that long. These days I'm composing and producing minimal electronica and writing short pieces for sync licensing. It's a blast - bring on the new!
I love tonal music, believe deeply in artistry and am committed to the idea that music and authorship implies meaning. With those ideas still driving me, I hope you will find the music linked to here capable of moving you emotionally and viscerally - distracting you, even if you don't want to be! That's usually a sign that we're on to something! There is a new track on Ampwall, who I'm proud to have partnered with - if you want tot support what I'm doing and the ideas driving me, feel free to go there... and buy a track! It's a form of cultural voting and thinking of it that way may be a helpful framing for artists and the general populace.
If any of this strikes you as intriguing, feel free to get in touch with me at dave@dpainchaudmusic.com - I'm always up for collaborations or for simply being useful in helping various entities communicate their ideas effectively and emotionally to their desired audience. I those contexts, I look forward to bringing value to what you do, while with my own pursuits I hope I can bring you a bit of peace and a quiet spot in your headspace where you can reflect and daydream.
